INVIA – TRAVEL COMMERCIAL
Two sandals with way too much personality.
BRIEFING
For INVIA’s holiday brands—Ab in den Urlaub, Travelplanet.pl, and Invia—we were asked to create a cheerful, family-friendly spot. The brief: bring two mischievous flip-flops to life, in a way that works across TV and YouTube, and in multiple languages.
APPROACH
We leaned into their odd-couple dynamic—somewhere between Ernie & Bert and Beavis & Butthead. The challenge: make them feel alive without ever breaking the Toy-Story-style rule that they can only move when humans aren’t watching. Character design, animation style, and timing all had to land perfectly to balance humor with warmth.
MAKING OF
After the live-action shoot, we dropped our animated duo straight into the scene. Rigs gave them a cartoony bounce and elastic reactions, while subtle comp work grounded them in the real world. Giving each sandal its own quirks—one schemer, one sidekick—turned a simple prop into a buddy-comedy cast. Every frame was about making their voices believable and their personalities shine.
